The Lady Cougars team was established during the Spring of 2005. We strive to be the best competitive women's flag football team in the Washington, DC area and the nation. Over the years, we have consistently fielded top talent, performed at a high level and aggressively competed for local and national titles.
Although we are a group of competitive women, we like to have fun and consider our teammates to be family. Ultimately, we strive to learn and apply the principles of teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship on the field on any given Sunday. Participation on our team is open to all adult women in the D.C./Maryland/Virgina area who have an interest in learning or furthering the development of their flag football skills.
We are sustained by contributions made by team members, sponsors, and various fundraising activities.

Sportsmanship. Teamwork. Strength. Character. Discipline. Dedication.
We play in the Metropolitan Area Women's Flag Football League (MAWFFL), which was formed in 1995. MAWFFL's goal is to enhance women's sports by encouraging women to achieve their maximum potential as athletes. Over 200 women participate each year in the Spring and Fall Seasons from the Washington Metropolitan Area (Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia). More than 40% of the DC Divas are current or former MAWFFL participants. Games are played on Sundays in the City of Alexandria at George Washington Middle School. The Fall season is held between August and November and the Spring season is held between March and June. MAWFFL is always seeking to expand and improve by inviting new teams to join the league and increase competition.
We appreciate the support of the community, local merchants, and civic organizations.
